A Bad Client
At this time we will forcus on full service. Please write
if you would like to contribute to other forms sex-work.
There are all different types of bad clients.
Undesireable Clients
-
No Shows - clients who call or write,
book an appointment, confirm an appointment and just don't show up
The best advice to reduce this is to always double confirm with the
client an hour or so before the appointment (so you are not dressed
and ready prior to their arrival). Have them call you when they are
on their way. Call them a few hours before to ensure they have the
proper information and you are still on.
- Smelly / Ungroomed Clients - clients that have failed
to clean up before coming to see you.
Offer them a shower, or if you are at their place
offer to take a shower with them. Have supplies with you like nail
clippers, mouth wash, mints..
-
Clients that keep you on the phone or multiple
e-mails- clients that often are looking for phone sex or
will never book. They ask hundreds of questions.
Try keeping a limit to the lengh of time you corrospond. Direct them
to your website. Ask direct quesitons (eg. when are you seeking an
appointment). If they ask what do you provide turn it back on them
- what are you looking for?
- Clients that do not pay or short you - clients that
do not immideatly offer payment as they arrive.
This happens to often. Statements like - can we settle our business
before we begin. Getting your payment and saying I will be right back
with some water or after I freshen up (then checking the donation) If
it is short - stating - I think there has been some mistake. Were you
seeking this amount of time with me, for if you were you are XXX short
on your donation.
- Clients who give counterfiet money - this may seem
unlikely but it has happened on numerous occations to people I have
worked with including myself. It is a hard one to catch but if you touch
the funds when they are present you may be able to catch this one.
Bad Clients
- Clients that don't respect your boundries - clients
that attempt to force services that you do not offer or ones you deem
unsafe.
Be as direct as possible. I am not comforatable with XXX. Please do
not put your fingers from x to y. Set limits - If you do that again
I will be forced to end the session.
- Clients who are rough - clients that break your set
boundries and hurt you.
Again be direct - Please stop that or I will be forced to end the session.
If you are frightened. Talk your way out. Excuse yourself and go to
the bathroom. Call you contact person, alert the person you are working
with, call your driver. Get out of there
Say NO.
- Clients who are violent - this is downright scarry
and we hope you never experience this!
You must assess your situation. There is no right or wrong way to deal
with this.
*If you can escape do! Immediatly as soon as you are aware.
*If you feel you cannot escape - try to be as accomodating as possible.
Escape with your life. Say what you need to say.
*Call your contacts. Get assistance. Call your local rape crisis line
- get support. You are stong - and can get through this.
It is your choice if you report (and there are differnt levels of reporting).
* Let local escorts know.
* Visit the local rape crisis centre.
* Visit the hospital - do a rape kit (hairs, fluids)
*Call the police
What to do if you've had a Bad Date
This is North American Specific - feel free to write
us with information on how to deal with a bad date internationally.

- No matter what choice of occupation you choose, NOBODY DESERVES
TO BE ASSAULTED.
-
Once you have either fled the
date or if he leaves, GO TO A SAFE PLACE! Call a friend or go directly
to the hospital.
-
DO NOT shower until you have
been examined by a professional. If you DO decide to charge the
asshole the doctors & could find DNA on your body which could
be used as evidence if you decide to go to trial.
-
Talk to someone you know and
trust not to judge you. If you don't feel you have anyone to confide
to you can call Sex Professionals of Canada anytime of day or night
and talk to someone their.
-
Now you need to decide to go
to the police or not. It is better to tell the police sooner rather
then later.
-
If you go to the police try
and bring a support with you, (someone at SPOC may be able to go
with you).
-
If you are able to, bring a
lawyer.
-
If you feel more comfortable
speaking to a female officer, ask for a female officer.
-
Tell the police EVERYTHING
that happened in regards to the assault. Give them a complete description
of him if you can, include license plates, phone numbers anything!
Even if all you know is his tattoo that is still something they
can go on, as well as men have been caught with no description AT
ALL.
-
The police should investigate
right away. Someone from thr sexual assault Squad should call you
within 2 weeks to set up an appointment.
-
At the appointment you will
be taken to an office and the detective will take you to a private
room where only the 2 of you are allowed to be. He/she will then
inform you that the interview is being video taped. Be ready to
be asked some very sensitive and personal questions. Try to answer
as many as you can.
-
Sometimes the police don't
notify the victim when the suspect has been arrested. Ask them to
let you know if/when that happens.
-
Later on the detectives should
let you know weather or not they will be charging the individual.
(you might have to identify him in a police line up)
-
If the individual is arrested
then the police will hand over the case to the Cown Prosecutor office
and then to court.
- Toronto: You could call the Rape Crisis Centre
24 hours a day at (416) 597-8808 - these are volunteers with resourses
that can accompany you to the hospital or to court. If you've had
a bad date call the Toronto Police Anonymous Bad Date Line at 416-808-0000.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all police are sensitive and some have been known
to treat sex workers poorly, sometimes not taking her/him seriously,
sometimes not taking a report and sometimes even charging the victim
with a prostitute related offence. Police have also been known to
call Childrens Aid on mothers who work as prostitutes.
