An interview with an Agency Escort aka Jezebel

Which sex work field are you in/were you in? For how long have you been in this field?

I have been an escort for 4 years.

What is your preferred job title?

I like Whore.

How did you decide which type of sex work was right for you?

I started as a driver on weekends to supplement my income as a crisis counselor. I often went into the large calls to keep an eye on the extra guys. I had a lot of fun doing this. I was often propositioned. I saw that the guys were not nearly the creeps I expected to see. I saw how much more money the "girls" were making. I stopped driving and started escorting.

How did you find your job?

Another co-worker at my day job was a driver there and I covered for her one weekend when she had to go away. She told me about it.

Briefly describe your working environment.

I am usually on-call at home on the computer and doing the laundry waiting for the phone to ring. Once called I will go to a hotel/motel or residense of the client. I will also hang around the office sometimes (like now). I work with some fun people and we have a great time when we are together.

How do most clients find you and/or book an appointment with you?

Clients call the agency and book through them. They advertise in the paper and the phone book.

Tell us a bit about what your job involves.

Amusement by the hour. 90% talk and 10% action.

What is an 'average' appointment/session/call for you?

One hour. One drink. Conversation followed by sex.

What's your weirdest client/session/call/request?

• There have been a few foot fetish guys that aren't interested in conversation or in anyone getting undressed.
• Fire fighters who wear panty hose under their jeans.
• 3 brother in-laws who are using their wive's family's cottage to have 3 escorts up to christen the beds for the season.
• and not so funny but slightly surprising are the high profile politicians and celebrities who call and use credit cards with thier names on them.

What do you charge/get paid?

There is a range depending on distance. On average I am getting $90 an hour.

What do you like most about your job?

The money. I only work 3-4 days a week with more time and money on my hands then I have ever had. I will be done paying for my house this year. I am getting a new car and paying for it in cash. I am with my kids almost every waking hour they have when they aren't in school. We take trips and go to museums and do anything they want to. They are both on teams I would never have been able to afford to have them on.

What do you like least?

Dirty drunk idiots. They are a minority but they are gross.

What would you like people to know about your work?

I'm not a victim. I don't "sell" my body or myself. I use my body and my brain as most people do on the job. It is LESS spiritually invasive then being a crisis counselor who has to sponge up the worst crisis and trauma that people will ever have, but it pays a hell of a lot better.

While there are a few grose creeps who call there are also brilliant and wonderful people who are a joy to spend time with.

If you could go back in time, and tell yourself one thing just as you were getting started in sex work, what would it be?

Always be safe and don't get too emotionally involved. And if you must use drugs or drink to do this work DON'T DO IT.
