Nude Model / Cam WorkWritten by Anna I run nerdpr0n.com, which is a I have the unique experience of being both a webmaster and a model, and also of having been utterly inexperienced in all things porny, so I had to start from square one. A lot of adult site advice forums and websites have good material provided you're not a complete and utter rookie. They tend to overlook the obvious, when the obvious might give us all a step up. So, without any further ado, I shall present my experiences as “the obvious”, split up for webmasters and for models. For modelsFirst and foremost: this is not legal advice and should not be construed as such. Second and secondmost: if you aren't wholly comfortable with everyone in the world being able to pay a little bit of money to see every inch of you naked, don't do it. IF you think you might not be comfortable with it someday, don't do it. Very few sites will let you buy back sets or take them down voluntarily. Heck, if a site folds, they might even sell your pictures to other company! There are tons of independent modeling opportunities. I
can't tell you a single solitary thing about breaking into the mainstream
pornography industry. Ok, I have a guess – google “adult content
providers” and that might get you somewhere. For non-mainstream
stuff, I can do a bit better. I can tell you where to apply and what they're
looking for. I can list independent, alt-porn sites that you might want
to consider applying to, depending on what kind of modeling you want to
do and where your limits are. My experience has been that many adult webmasters
are very busy and will not get around to reviewing your submission for
weeks or even months, so don't do this because you need cash quick. When
you do indepedent modeling for websites, typically you go to an application
page (generally listed under “models wanted”, “for models”,
“be on this site!”, or “contact”), fill out a
form, and submit a number of pictures. Competition is pretty stiff, so use the application as your chance to sell yourself. Avoid one-word answers if you can. When it asks why you want to model for that site, make it clear that you're the site's #1 fan and you love their philosophy and what they do. Make it personal. Mention something you specifically noticed (“I love the girls you have on this site – especially Misty with her cute toes – and I want to be one too!”) You wouldn't put a halfass effort into answering job interview questions, and this is no different. Your pictures need to showcase your best assets and to pitch to their angle. If you're applying to a foot fetish site, submit that picture of you sucking your own toes. If you're submitting to SuicideGirls, submit pictures of you looking gothy, punky, pouty and tattooed. Read their submission guidelines carefully: if they want 1 face shot and 2 nudies, don't send 3 close-ups of your mug. The quality of the sample pictures should accurately reflect the quality of the set you eventually plan on submitting. NO webcam pictures. High-res, large, clear pictures all the way! On to a list, off the top of my head – these may be good places to start with: http://www.suicidegirls.com If a site strikes your fancy, check out its links – it may have more sites similar to what you're looking for that you can apply to! This little list is really just the tip of the iceberg. Another reason you probably won't get cash very quickly is because paperwork is involved. Every site I have applied to be on requires the signing of a contract and a photocopy of one or more forms of government-issued identification, and all that snail-mailing back and forth takes a long time. (additional information as to why this is necessary is in the “webmasters” section, if you're curious). If your email address/contact information is at all public, you WILL get emails from people who see your pictures. And some of them will be very, very creepy. Don't worry about it, don't stress – don't answer if you don't want to, tear them a new asshole if you want to, but keep in mind the entire time the sort of image and effort you want to present, and keep in mind that you set your own boundaries and the only person who can or will police them is YOU. Don't be discouraged by all of this...I still absolutely love doing my site, even though I have gotten my fair share of creepy, rude, obtrusive emails. And I continue to do it because I can let all of that roll off of my back. And on that note, feel free to email me at anna (at) nerdpr0n (dot) com! |
